Best time to visit

During day time we have a pleasant atmosphere throughout the year. The best season to visit Kerala is between October and April. If one is looking for Ayurvedic treatments, experts suggest the best time as the Monsoon days – from June to September. We have cool nights during December & January. No winter clothes required for Kerala. At Hill stations, like Munnar, Wayanad etc. the temperature falls to a level where we need to light woolen dresses at night only if one takes a walk in the open.

Travel wear

Keeping Cotton outfits, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen lotions etc. with you will be a nice idea.

Food

All standard restaurants offer a variety of cuisines including Continental, Chinese, and Indian.

Water

Tap water is purified and safe to drink in Kerala but it is better to drink bottled drinking water. It is not advisable to drink water from slow moving streams, lakes or dams. Mineral water is available in sealed bottles throughout South India.

Toilets

In India, public toilet facilities are few and far between. Take every opportunity you get to use a clean toilet in places such as hotels and restaurants. Make this a habit wherever you go.

Money

There is no limit to the amount of foreign currency that visitors can bring.

Banks

Banks are open between 10 and 1600 hrs. Some banks work till 1800 hrs. Sundays closed.

Credit cards

Large establishments like, hotels, shops, restuarants and airlines accept all major credit cards.

Drugs

Narcotic drugs are banned in India. Heavy punishments including imprisonment are imposed for possession of narcotic drugs.
