Morning excursion to Kanchipuram (65 kms), the main temples which are of
interest include: Kailasanatha Temple,Ekambaranatha Temple, Vaikundaperumal
Temple, Kamakshiamman Temple, Varadarajaswami Temple etc.
Lunch could be had either in a Restaurant or in a 90 year Old house in town.
(Prior arrangements needed to enjoy food.)
Return to Mahabalipuram for overnight stay.

After breakfast, leave for Pondicherry (140 kms). Arrive and proceed to your hotel.
The place is famous for the world famous Sree Aurobindo Ashram, The Beach etc.

After breakfast, leave for Chidambaram 75 kms - (the land of Cosmic Dance) famous for
its Nataraja Temple. This temple is famous for its 108 clasical postures of Nataraja (Shiva)

Thereafter proceed to Gangaikondacholapuram ( 45kms). Built
by Cholas is another site of architectural brilliance.
Later leave for Swamimalai (45 kms) to spend overnight in a Heritage Property.

After breakfast leave for Tanjore, 45 kms away.
Visit the massive Sri Brahadeswara Temple built by Cholas.The tower over the sanctum
sanctorum has a height of 65 meters capped with a round monolithic cupola
weighing over 80 tons. Nearby one can find over a dozen shiv-lingas in a row. The
place also houses a Sangeetha Mahal a perfect engineering skill is at sight here.We can
also visit the Art Gallery and Saraswathy Mahal Library housing over 30,000 palmleaf
and paper manuscripts in Indian as well as European languages. (wed. is a holiday).
Later leave for Trichi 60 kms. Arrive and checkin to your hotel
Afternoon visit Rock Fort Temple situated inside the City with height of approx. 83 metres.
The temple on top, Vinayaka Temple is visited by climbing around 437 steps going through
Tunnel made through the rock. Shiva temple is about half way through the climb. One can
have a panoramic view of the City From the top.
Also visit Sri Ramgam with 21 huge gopurams, the tallest or the worlds largest (so it is
claimed) Raja Gopuram has a gleaming golden dome plated with pure gold leaves.

Breakfast at the hotel.Leave for Madurai 145 kms.
Arrive and checkin at hotel.
Afternoon visit the places of interest, including the famous
Madurai Meenakshi Temple. The one thousand pillard mandapam is a sight of Perfection
in architecture. Also visit the Palace closeby.
Evening, after dinner time, revisit the Meenakshi Temple to witness Bed Chamber
ceremony.

After lunch, start cruising through lake Viewing
country life and visiting places of interest. The cruising will end around sunset time
allowing fishermen to spread their nets.

After breakfast, proceed to Kerala Kalamandalam The Center for Indian Performing Arts
& Culture to watch and learn as to how the students are trained here in various art forms.
Prior permission required for visit (0930 hrs to 1300 hrs except on Public & Govt. holidays.
Also During Onam (10 days) and Xmas/New Year days (10 days) the Institution will not
function).
Thereafter, leave for Calicut (Kozhikode) 120 kms.
Arrive and checkin at hotel.
If time permits, visit Beypore Port where the traditional URU (the boat) Building can be
seen. The commercial boats are built as per orders received from Gulf citizens later to be
taken to their native land. Other place of Interest is Kappad beach where Vasco de Gama
first landed (27th May, 1498).
Return to hotel for overnight stay.
