seat of Kerala Kalamandalam, world renouned Academy for various art forms, now a deemed University.
We would take special permission to show you around the Institution to learn as to how the students undergo
the rigorous training in Kathakali, Mohiniyattom,Thullal etc.
Thereafter, leave for Guruvayoor. On arrival, you will then be taken to
Punnathur Kotta (Elephants’ Camp). A minimum of 50 elephants can be seen at any given
time here. These elephants are owned by Guruvayoor temple Devaswam.You will have a chance to
see as to how these Temple elephants are looked after. Photography is permitted but fee is
involved. (Visitors are not allowed inside Punnathur Kotta after 5 pm)
Later, proceed to Temple premises of Sree Krishna (non-Hindus are not allowed inside the The temple)
Evening hours you will enjoying watching devotees throng to the temple to offer their prayers.
If time permits, either this day OR next day, you will also visit the Institution where Mural paintings are
taught.

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave for Cochin, enroute visiting Kodungallur, known
to be the Place where St. Thomas, the Apostle is said to have landed first in AD 52. Muslims have
one of the ancient Mosques here named as Cheraman Palli (Cheraman Juma Masjid, built in
629 AD). Hindus too have a famous temple called the Durga Temple.
On arrival at Cochin, checkin at a Heritage hotel.
Evening, witness Kathakali performance at a
local theatre. It is Advisable to be at the theatre by 6 pm in order to watch the artis apply costumes.
