
Kerala, God's Own Country is on the southernmost tip of India. It stretches along the coast of the Arabian Sea and is separated from the rest of the sub continent by the steep Western Ghats. The state lies between 80 18 ' and 120 48 ' north latitude and 740 52' and 770 22' east longitude. The breadth of the state varies from 32 kms in the extreme north and south to over 120 kms in the middle.Kerala has an area of 38,863 sq.kms with a population of approx: 32 million. Trivandrum is the capital while Cochin and Calicut are the main commercial centres.
Kerala has its own charm. It has the unique geographical features that have made it one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Asia. The backwaters, hill stations, beaches, wildlife etc. whatever may be the requirment of a visitor, it has everything to offer.
The erstwhile Malabar region is now being attracted to visitors largely because the area is less explored giving a virgin look to the backwaters, hillstations and beaches. The beaches in North Kerala(Malabar) are less crowded.The hotels available in the area have all been praised by the guests for their incomparable hospitality.
